Currently 200M Users Strong, Viber Introducing Desktop App with Video Calling In Version 3.0

Viber has made quite a name for itself as a international cellular first organization, but these days that all changes as the organization smashes ground in the pc space. That means that starting these days, Viber’s 200 million+ customers will have accessibility their Viber connections from both cellular and pc.

The rollout is part of a bigger push from Viber, such as an upgrade to its iOS, Android operating system and BlackBerry applications to edition 3.0. But the real tale is this pc app.

I performed with the software earlier this week, and can say that it’s a truly amazing VoIP, texting, and movie contacting system. That is right. Viber for Desktop (available on both PC and Mac here) represents the business's access into movie contacting with a try out edition of the feature. For now, movie contacting is only available from pc to pc.

Other than that, the pc edition has just about everything the cellular edition has, such as texting, decals, etc.

To start, you must be a cellular user of Viber, so if you do not have a variety that’s already associated with the service, the pc app will ask you to obtain the cellular application. From there, you simply feedback your variety into the pc app, enter a pin which is sent to your cellular phone, and you immediately have accessibility all the connections you know on Viber.

The reason Viber did it this way is because the organization will pay close attention to the communicating, and discussing habits of its customers. We do not sit still when we talk; we walk and walk. By attaching the cellular and pc programs together by standard, this actually lets you easily switch from cellular to pc in the middle of a call.

Viber also syncs your information against cellular and pc, so all information appear on both systems but only the product that you’re on definitely will beep. Messages removed on one system will also show as removed on others.

As earlier mentioned, Viber is also releasing a large upgrade to its cellular phone programs, such as Android operating system and iOS. They will both now have movie information (much like videos clip voicemail messages which you can leave for a friend), new decals, “last online status”, an improved photo experience, a new voice engine, and other minimal repairs. Android operating system in particular has gone through a large upgrade to be “less iOS and more Android operating system,” according to Talmon Marco, CEO of Viber.
