So what did Facebook or myspace spend on this quarter? Worldwide control of the Internet and independence of expression; protection and online comfort policy pages and the training and learning of these policies; knowledge of online advertising; immigration law reform; online protection and information security; and discussions on tax problems and share.
It’s also important to note that Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg and a variety of other technical all-stars recently co-founded a political advocacy and lobbying team designed to promote guidelines that will keep the American workforce competitive. The first item on the agenda for the team is pushing comprehensive immigration law change, but it will also be focusing its initiatives on knowledge change and scientific research.
After hitting highs in lobbying investing this season, Search engines cut its first-quarter lobbying investing by 33 % to $3.35 thousand year-over-year (Google invested $5.03 thousand on lobbying in the first one fourth of 2012). The search giant’s investing was flat from one fourth to one fourth, with Search engines investing the exact same quantity on lobbying in Q4 of 2012. Search engines scored a huge victory in February when the Federal Business Commission closed its antitrust investigation, and many say that Search engines escaped lightly because of its improved presence and lobbying in D.C.
This one fourth, Search engines invested money lobbying on problems of control of online promotion, patent change and ip enforcement; comfort and information protection issues; electricity policy; online independence of expression; health technological innovation and privacy; online security; immigration law and job creation; openness and competition in online services, math, technological innovation education; international tax reform; the benefits of cloud computing for small businesses; broadband adoption and open Internet access; and independence of concept and ip in international trade agreements.
And it looks like Facebook’s not the only company taking a page out of the Search engines lobbying playbook. According to Consumer Watchdog.org, a variety of other technical leaders also improved investing on lobbying initiatives. Microsoft invested $2.53 thousand in the one fourth, which is a 41 % improve from $1.79 thousand this season. Amazon invested $859,831, a 32 % improve from $650,000 this season. Apple invested $720,000, a 44 % improve from $500,000 this season. Oracle invested $1.37 thousand, a 25 % improve from 1.1 thousand this season.
